Comm Comm is working with Raven Housing Trust to deliver an investment and renewal programme of social housing and community spaces in Tadworth, Surrey

Our Role:
Communications consultancy to support Raven in their ambitions to deliver renewed, new and improved homes and green spaces in Tadworth.
Supporting with planning communications and community outreach
Existing site:
Housing estate in the Preston area of Tadworth, with over 1000 homes owned and managed by Raven
Many homes are 1960s/70s builds and are expensive to maintain and heat
Many homes have issues with damp, mould and condensation and are not viable for retrofit
Area also includes shops at Marbles Way, and has a leisure centre and park at the centre of the estate
Surveys have reported areas for improvement, concerns about anti-social behaviour, parking and the cost of repair and maintenance of the homes.
Scheme deliverables:
As part of a significant investment programme, Raven is proposing to rebuild 144 homes and deliver new homes to the area
Creation of a new community hub/amenities at Merlands Green
Creation of new shops and homes at Marbles Way
Replacement of aging blocks of flats in Chetwode Roade and Merland Rise
Improved pedestrian links and green space
Communications undertaken:
This is a significant and important scheme which required a lot of sensitivity and dedicated resource
Comm Comm has supported with key messaging, early engagement of key stakeholders, including RBBC, Surrey County Council, ward councillors and the Preston Partner Network
Initial engagement with surveys and exhibition in July 2025
Dedicated project website and project in-box launched, alongside comprehensive surveys on the Give My View platform
Creation of dedicated information booklets for affected residents and wider estate
Door-knocking with Raven team to 144 addresses across the estate
Public exhibitions across the areas in October 2025, including walk & talk events with the design team
One-to-one sessions for affected resident to understand their housing needs and offer support packages
Public webinar to explain plans
Tailored workshops with hard-to-reach groups, including local youth groups
Commitment to ongoing communications, via letter, website, events and one-to-one meetings into 2026 and beyond
Feedback loops produced and published at every stage.
Status of scheme:
Ongoing – tranches 1 & 2 have been undertaken, with more consultation and engagement planned in December 2025 and Spring 2026.
Target planning application in mid/late 2026
