6 Grosvenor Place
Comm Comm delivered successful communications for S73 and Listed Building Consent applications for this private members’ club in Westminster, for CIT and new operator Copper Beech (Soho House, The Groucho).
Our Role:
Planning communications to support new S73 and Listed Building Consent applications for a private members’ club we originally worked on in 2019, now operated by Copper Beech.
Existing site:
In 2019, planning and listed building consent was secured for the development of two Grade II listed former townhouses and mews buildings, forming part of 6-14 Grosvenor Place. The scheme included a private members’ club, public café, roof terraces and extension to the mews at the rear of the building.
Work has been underway since 2020, and the applicant was seeking to make some amendment to the scheme, in light of the changes to how we work, live and socialise since covid.
Scheme deliverables:
To reinstate some of the historical elements uncovered during construction work
To reconfigure some internal layouts to improve operational efficiency
To introduce new F&B areas and dining rooms, and remove some of the planned work spaces, in recognition of hybrid working and falling demand for boardroom space
To introduce changes to the terraces at the rear of the building
Communications undertaken:
Early engagement with local Belgravia ward councillors and amenity groups such as the Belgravia Neighbourhood Form, Belgravia Society and the Westminster Society
Site visits and one-to-one meetings
Letters and updates to neighbours
Dedicate project website and webinar, recorded and shared online
Constant contact with interested neighbours
Commitment from the operator to continue with a Resident Liaison Group during construction and after opening
Feedback loops shared with the design team and neighbours
SCI drafted as part of the planning application
Status of scheme:
Planning granted in Autumn 2025
