To work alongside Barry Biomass to implement a programme of community relations for a renewable energy plant located in Barry, South Wales.
Existing site:
Constructed in 2016, the plant is a renewable energy facility capable of delivering 10 MW of renewable electricity, enough to power around 27,000 homes
It operates by converting waste wood chippings into electricity through the process of gasification
Scheme deliverables:
To implement a programme of consultation to liaise with the local community to address their concerns and to reassure them about the safety of the plant.
Communications undertaken:
Regular updates to the local community on the commissioning process and operations
Launched a comprehensive website.
Status of scheme:
Recently closed due to insecure investment and change of policy.
